Commodity Watch: Copper Futures In Focus Amid Firm Spot Demand
New Delhi: Copper futures on Friday rose 0.14 per cent to Rs800.75 per kilogram on the back of higher spot demand. On Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for February delivery climbed Rs1.15 or 0.14 per cent to Rs800.75 per kg in a business turnover of 1,050 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to the raising of bets by participants.
Aluminium futures fall on low demand
Aluminium prices slipped 95 paise to Rs239.95 per kilogram in the futures market as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. On MCX, aluminium for delivery in February fell 95 paise or 0.39 per cent to Rs239.95 per kg in 525 lots. Analysts said cutting down of positions by participants on easing demand from consuming industries mainly kept aluminium prices lower.
